Anti-Valentine’s Day show Friday, February 13th
Valentine’s Day lurks just around the corner, waiting to trip you up with chocolate hearts, flying Cupids, lacy sentimental cards and expectations of romantic trysts. But what about the lovelorn masses abandoned by their feckless paramours? Who cares for the bitter wallflower who glowers at the oblivious lovers? And who will acknowledge the beleaguered partner who is desperately attempting to extract themselves from an obtrusive relationship?
Fear not non-lovers of the world. Songwriters everywhere have been recording the audacious, thoughtless, even vicious nature of love. Come February 13th WYEP’s Anti-Valentine’s Day show will try to keep the world in balance with an alternative view of the holiday with some of the best songs written about the vulgarity of love.
